CHALLENGE
Chase bank asked us for "big, blue sky" philanthropic ideas to help make the world a better place. We asked ourselves, "what if Chase customers direct their purchasing power, en masse, towards businesses committed to supporting the local economy?"

SOLUTION
Introducing the "Chase Brighter Program." The first credit card that rewards socially responsible purchasing behavior. We conceived the end-to-end concept, including credit card design, mobile app, bank statements and retail signage.

CARD DESIGN

The card ambiently charges low-power LEDs using radio waves already in the air. A portion of the LED lights up each time the cardholder makes a purchase from a socially responsible business. Shop at four socially responsible businesses in a month, and be rewarded with triple-points.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Businesses committed to a socially responsible and brighter future are brought into the Chase Brighter Network.

Consumers are rewarded for shopping at these businesses with low interest rates and double/triple reward points.

MOBILE APPLICATION

Users can search retail stores within the Chase Brighter Network who have committed to socially responsible business practices, and supporting their community via locally sourced goods.

CHASE CARD STATEMENT

Each month a statement is emailed explaining:
How their actions have helped move the world in a brighter direction.

Spending habits are tracked and visualized over time, driving data visualization such as a users carbon footprint.
